Their home base tucked near the Missouri River, Matah Adventures outfits canoe and kayak trips of up to six days on the picturesque Missouri as it twists and winds on its journey across North Dakota. Some trips may include jaunts on one of the many adjoining rivers.
With Matah Adventures’ guided tours, you are not only assisted with planning your trip and selecting your route, but also supplied the equipment needed to enjoy your adventure to the fullest, all under the eye of a skilled guide.
In selecting one of our guided trips, you will also learn the historic background of the river, experience many celebrated sights, and spot a wide variety of vegetation and wildlife making its home along the Missouri.
Our guides have vast knowledge of the river and its history, especially of the days when the Mandan & Hidatsa Indians made their home along the Missouri’s banks and the white explorers and trappers traveled far, plotting an uncharted territory and setting their traps.
For the do-it-yourself group, Matah Adventures rents canoes, kayaks, and equipment at daily and multi-day rates, and if requested, we will also help you plan a route and trip that best fits your needs and experience level.
